"The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you" --Mark 4:24.
When I read this verse, I realized that this is so true. To know the Lord is to know peace and to be confident in who I am. When I spend time in the Word, I am reminded of His promises and the truths about what I was created to do. Too often we get bogged down with negative thoughts, overwhelmed with challenges, or worry about things that have yet to happen, and we are unable to enjoy life in the present moment because of that. So I want to encourage you to think about what you are thinking about, and to try to focus on the positive things--whatever is lovely, honorable, pure, and true. Don't let worry, fear, doubt, or lies cloud your thoughts.
"For as a person thinks in his heart, so is he..." --Proverbs 23:7

So interesting, Christine -
Totally different situation, but in my Cognitive Behavioral Thinking Class (required for me to take now that I am still on disability for PPD), we are also learning about blocking negative automatic thoughts and replacing them with positive ones. It takes a lot a lot alot of time - and patience, but I think it really works! Uncharacteristic of me to say, but God Bless!
